Details of up-coming Social Tournaments will appear in the monthly newsletter and on the News and Events page. These are normally held on Sunday afternoons and combine a sociable event with a bit of light hearted competition. These tennis tournaments are a good opportunity to meet other members and have an enjoyable few hours of tennis.
If you are interested in organising a tournament, please contact a committee member.
Our social tournaments most often use the American Tournament format. In some you may be invited to enter with a partner whereas in others, partners will be pulled from a hat. The early rounds are usually played in a Round Robin format, so you are guaranteed a number of games rather than sitting on the sidelines if you lose your first match. There is usually a small entry fee to cover the cost of balls and prizes.
The club maintains a subscription to Tennis Jeannie through which Singles Box Leagues are organised from time to time, usually in Spring before the start of the Club Tournament, and subject to demand from members.
Click on Jeannie to go to the Crowthorne Tennis Club Box League. Once there, click on Results to see who’s playing. If you are already registered, you can arrange matches, enter results, etc. If not, you can Register with Tennis Jeannie to enter the next round or just look at what Tennis Jeannie offers.
Results are uploaded to the LTA so that if both you and your opponent have a British Tennis Rating, the result will contribute to your ratings at the next ratings run.
